I remember my Ragnarok days back in 2004. I was invited by my friends to play Ragnarok Online, it’s the biggest game out now! Dapat maglaro ka rin! Being one of the “want to be in” kids I decidedly gave it a shot. I made my first character and named it after my biggest crush in high school. Mas masarap naman maglaro na babae ang tinitignan mo diba? That’s what I said to myself. Staring at a male avatar all day is boring; not to mention the lack of bouncing bewbies. I decidedly made a female thief just because of the sole purpose; bouncing twins when in battle stance. That gave me a kick every time and was one of the major motivating factors that made me attack one monster to the next.

The multi-awarded Free to play MMORPG Runes of Magic Philippines server launches today January 8, 2010! The game is probably the best free to play MMORPG out there, earning alot of awards last year (2009). Now that the we have our very own server, we can taste what a quality MMORPG really is. The game is heavily quest based and does not require too much grinding. Anyway, you should give the game a try and see for yourself.. Good luck and Have fun!

You may have heard about Allods online and how marvelous the game is and I can concur to that. The game is absolutely awesome and is definitely a must play. Closed Beta 2 just ended and Closed Beta 3 will begin on December 29. So grab your keys and prepare for the third CBT.

Runes of Magic, the number 1 free to play MMORPG as of this writing is probably the most anticipated MMORPG this year. It’s probably right around the corner as evidenced by the in-game events being really close to each other. It does have a 4GB installer though and won’t be home user friendly (especially the Smart Bro People). They haven’t announced when Open Beta will be yet but I sure do hope they get to launch it before the holiday season ends.

Guild wars was probably on of the best if not the best MMO I ever played. Unfortunately I never got to buy the game because of lack of finances that time. But I tried the 10 day demo that they used to have and man did I enjoy the PVP. The guild wars community is slowly dying because the game is damn old. Fortunately we now finally have Guild Wars 2 but there is not news about when it may be released. I remember NCSOFT saying that the game will be released when it is ready. So we’ll probably have a long wait till it is released.
Finally after years of waiting we finally have official confirmation that Ragnarok Online 2 will be released. Unfortunately though, we are not so sure about the direction that the game will take.
The original Ragnarok Online is still getting content updates, but more interesting is the company’s side-move into social networks. “Right now we’re developing a Ragnarok web game, a social network game,” says Lee. “It’ll be released next year as well, with an announcement coming before the end of this year. SNGs are one of our major concerns, so that includes directly linking to Facebook or other social networks.”
What does the social networking actually mean? Will the game steer away from its very good WoE and PVP system? Will it have mini flash games like that of Freerealms? We’ll never know for sure. All that matters is that since after 2 years of its beta testing (2007) we finally have news about the game.
